Take a trip in search of the lights fantastic

This utterly captivating region will draw you in and leave an impression that lasts for years to come. It’s all about the thrill of the chase of the elusive and magical Northern Lights, surrounded by epic sights and breathtaking natural wonders.

Take a deep breath and brace yourself for moment after moment of unforgettable natural beauty. The dramatic coast of Norway beckons and, as you’ll sail right into the heart of Åndalsnes, you’ll instantly be able to witness the awe-inspiring Troll Wall. Later, in Tromsø, Norway’s northern-most city, it’s time to explore. The best way to see its full glory is to take a cable car as high as 421metres up to the top of Mount Storsteinen, which affords spectacular views out over the city to the surrounding mountains. And don’t miss the fascinating Polaria Science Museum. Travelling even further north, you’ll arrive in Alta, ‘The Town of the Northern Lights’. An overnight in port gives you a better chance to witness this magical phenomenon (which unfortunately is never guaranteed). Heading south you’ll call into charming Stavanger. With its rich Norse heritage, it’s known as ‘The Cradle of the Vikings’.
