Unseen Caribbean

Life’s a beach in the Caribbean, but adventure is never far away with the exciting shore excursions offered at every port

The stunning Caribbean shoreline

The stunning Caribbean shoreline

To think of the Caribbean is to imagine a deliciously laid-back lifestyle played out against a backdrop of balmy blue waters and sugar-soft sand – most likely accompanied by a fruity rum punch. And what’s not to love about that? But the Caribbean, we know, belies another story: a kaleidoscope of colour filled with action-packed adventures. So, if you can bring yourself to push past the palm-fringed beaches, book yourself on to a shore excursion and discover the unseen Caribbean.

But when time to explore is limited, helicopter is the only way to experience this enchanting volcano, which is flanked on either side by sloping rainforests and farmland.

Luxury snorkelling in Dominica

Marilyn Monroe once famously bathed in champagne and now it’s your chance to do the same! Well, sort of. This secluded reef got its name from the gas bubbles that effervesce through the water from the geothermal springs below – giving the impression of swimming in a giant glass of the good stuff. The effect attracts marine life from far and wide, making for an unforgettable snorkelling spot.
