Paella Cooking Experience

Duration: 4.5 hours

Available on: All Valencia calls

Think Valencia, think paella – the famous rice dish is synonymous with the city, where it’s been eaten in various forms for centuries. Your day ashore will begin with a panoramic coach tour of the city’s splendours, taking in its Modernist, Moorish, Gothic and Baroque architecture and its leafy green spaces. Next, you’ll head to a paella school in nearby L’Horta to learn what goes into making this flavourful dish. With the guidance of a local chef, you’ll choose your fresh ingredients from an organic kitchen garden and learn how to prepare them before creating your own unique paella – outdoors, of course. While lunch is cooking, your chef will show you how to make another great Spanish classic: sangria. Soon it will be time to tuck in to your personal masterpieces – deliciously scented, garlicky, herby paella, accompanied by a jug of fresh sangria.

Next, you’ll get the chance to stretch your legs on a guided walking tour, which might include such gems as the magnificent Teatro Real opera house, the beautiful market of San Miguel, the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol.
