Catch the best sporting action this summer

One of the best summers of sport ever is on the horizon. But don’t let that stop you going on holiday. Thanks to our partnership with IMG, P&O Cruises will be hosting all the major sporting events live on board. So you can catch all the action and enjoy a fabulous break at the same time. Here’s how…

1 – Catch all the action

We’ll be showing all of this summer’s big sporting events across the fleet live on board*. Don’t miss a kick of the Home Nation games in the Euro 2016 championships; follow every rally of key matches in the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open; watch the drama of the Formula 1 races, and catch three days of Ryder Cup golf. Then there’s the biggie to get the nation’s heart racing – the Rio 2016 Games. We’ll be showing more than 200 hours of the Games, from the opening ceremony to the closing spectacle, and all the best bits in between.

2 – Watch as it happens

Only a live sporting event can put your heart in your mouth and keep you on the edge of your seat. Our sport channels will show all major live sporting events – or time delayed ‘as live’ when events start at the same time.

3 – Watch it your way

Nothing beats celebrating a win for your favourite team or sports star with others, or sharing the sense of national pride when Team GB takes to the podium. Of course, you can always shout at the TV or relive golden moments in your cabin. But for big events, enjoy the atmosphere of shared triumphs and tragedies on the big screens in one of the bars – and on the Seascreen on Azura. However you want to watch, the choice is yours.

4 – Soak up the feelgood factor

To add to the festive sporting mood, we’ll be putting on themed activities and food and refreshment options to reflect the special sporting occasions. Think Pimms o’clock for Wimbledon; a South American themed buffet and deck barbecue during the Rio 2016 Games or pub snacks for Euro matches. Details of themed sporting activities and food and refreshment options will be available on board.

5 – Take time out

Even the most avid sports fans need to take time out to catch their breath, and other family members may want to enjoy some R&R or take part in a host of activities on board. Watch high-octane action, chill by the pool or explore on shore? Or how about a bit of everything? That’s the joy of a cruise this summer: you get the best of all worlds.

6 – Get active

If you’re feeling inspired by the on-screen action, there are plenty of ways to get active on board. Check in for a workout in the gym, stretch out with yoga and Pilates or hit the running track. You’ll also find table tennis on all ships and deck tennis on most. Pick your team for basketball and five-a-side footie or find a crafty pairing to take shuffleboard and deck quoits by storm.

Whether you watch or play, win or lose, the best bit is having fun with family and friends. We hope that you’ll join us for a fantastic summer of sport with P&O Cruises.
