New for 2019, we’ve crafted three new food-focused experiences ashore in Stavanger and Bergen with our three Food Heroes: Marco Pierre White, Eric Lanlard and Olly Smith. The tours deliver tailored small group experiences that venture off the beaten (and eaten) path.


Working with renowned chefs and local suppliers, we’re bringing you the best of what Norway’s food scene has to offer. The chefs and producers you’ll meet embody an ethos that shines the spotlight on top-quality local ingredients put together with thought and care. Exclusively and uniquely created for P&O Cruises, these tours are a treat for foodies who are hungry for a taste of Norway’s exciting culinary culture.


From farm to table with Marco Pierre White


Take a journey from farm to high-end cuisine with Marco Pierre White and Norwegian chef Kjartan Skjelde – and pick up some new kitchen skills along the way.  


Join Marco on a visit to top Stavanger restaurant Fish & Cow. Here, owner and celebrity chef Kjartan will enlighten you on the ethos behind the cuisine and restaurant, one where seasonal, local produce is the star of the show.


Next you’ll visit a farm where, in the pure air with picturesque views over Stavanger, you’ll pick the freshest ingredients with Marco. At a nearby kitchen, watch as Marco and Kjartan transform your pickings into a delightful dish. A dash of this, a sprig of that – it’s a truly unique experience to see these chefs command the kitchen.


Feel free to ask questions, as it’ll soon be your turn to recreate the dish with the help of the chefs. Recipe made, it’s time to tuck in!

Exclusive foodie adventure with Eric Lanlard


Delve into the delicious world of local fare and get crafty in the kitchen with master pâtissier Eric Lanlard and award-winning Norwegian chef Mary-Ann Skjeie.


You’ll start with a visit to Scandi-chic eatery Tango with Eric, where you’ll learn how local ingredients are the stars of the show. From here, you’ll head to cheese factory Stavanger Ysteri, and to Fermenten, a collective of fermenters and preservers, to learn about cheese production and have the chance to buy some tasty treats.  

After working up an appetite, it’s off to the kitchen to watch Eric and Mary-Ann whip up the delectable recipe of the day: yoghurt mousse with beignets and hay ice cream, made with fresh yoghurt from Stavanger Ysteri. 

After watching the masters at work, you’ll get into groups and recreate the dessert with the help of Eric and Mary-Ann: an experience not to be missed.

Bergen brewery experience with Olly Smith


Journey to the heart of Bergen’s refreshing craft ale scene with award-winning wine expert Olly Smith on this immersive brewery tour.


Allow Olly and the brewery owner to take you through the well-honed techniques of the master brewers, marvel at the mechanics that distil the good stuff, and delight in the natural flavours.

Olly’s passion for a tipple is sure to bubble over – expect infectious enthusiasm and boundless knowledge. ­­Feel free to fire away with your most complex questions. 


The team at 7 Fjell, a small craft brewery, are passionate about great ale and have decades of industry experience behind them. Their mantra is ‘less mass production – more taste and passion’. With Olly, you’ll have the opportunity to savour all the glorious flavours brewed into seven of their craft ales, from sweet to citrusy and spicy, alongside perfectly paired snacks such as dates, meatballs, and scampi with aioli. Skål to that!
